About Me
I recently received a Masterâs degree in Health Care Policy and Management (HCPM) at Carnegie Mellon University. The HCPM program can best be described as âan MBA with healthcare focusâ, offering a rigorous analytical training in the context of practical application in business and organizational management. I have taken coursework in economics, finance, information systems and management science. I am very intrigued by the rapid expansion of the health care industry and the need for solid financial and management capacities within strong organizations. I am also innately attracted to understanding and solving problems to ensure optimal solutions- a crucial skill in the consulting environment.
Moreover, I have been involved with two ongoing healthcare consulting projects. At the Western Pennsylvania Hospital, my team analyzed the patient admission and discharge processes. I was responsible for identifying bottlenecks and redundancies, and formulated recommendations to reduce throughput delays and to generate additional revenue. In addition, I did a financial analysis of a new electronic medical record system for the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center on the return of investment.
I have previously obtained a Masterâs degree in Mechanical Engineering, and was employed as an engineer in the automotive and commercial nuclear industries for five years. I was responsible for developing and launching various new products, evaluating domestic and global markets and competitions, performing risk assessments, improving operating efficiency, and formulating management strategies. My project management role trained me well in analytical thinking, leadership initiatives, team and organizational structuring, and resource utilization. In 2005, I left Westinghouse to pursue a full-time entrepreneurial venture following my passion in automotive racing technology. I created, financed, and currently manage a high-performance automotive consulting and retail business. Through my entrepreneurial venture, I have also gained and sharpened critical business development, marketing strategy, and financial management skills.
While I learned much from my work as an engineer and entrepreneur, I am very passionate about applying my knowledge and skill sets to the consulting industry, to seek new career challenge with higher personal responsibilities and impacts.
