Made of little families. Each department is a family, and inside those families, there are other families. And for the most part, the families don't like each other. Oh and the gossip will make you pull your hair out.

In Guest Services, you can work in many different areas. You can work in the Oceanarium along with the dolphins or whales, you can work at a post checking for tickets, or you can be on the register. You also have the possibility to get trained for tours, and animal training programs. Overall, you need to deal with 6000-14000 guests a day... over 2 million a year. After all, this is Chicago's most popular attraction (excluding stadiums and convcert halls).

In Guest Services, it is EXTREMELY easy. Other departments however, are competative, especially the marine mammal department (the volunteer waiting list is a few years long).

the volunteer waiting list is not a few years long, it depends on your experience, and your schedule

In Guest Services, you get paid wayyy to little for what you have to deal with. Then again, it depends on how much effort you put into the job. If you just stand there (like some do) then payment is great.
