Southern was one of the most competitive as far as compensation is concerned. Their wages, especially for business majors, were at or near the top. Since Georgia Tech is a powerhouse engineering school, all of the engineering Co-Ops could expect at least $17/hour to start. Business majors, however, usually started Co-Op assignments around $13/hour. Southern Company offers $15-$16/hour for business majors their first term.
