Everyone that I have met at the company is easy-going and easy to get along with. The partners, managers, and directors treat me with respect and make me feel as an equal. I am confident with speaking to them about my ideas about the company.
You get rewarded for the quality of your work rather than the speed you do it in. The work is always varied and I never feel like I'm working on the same thing everyday. The great thing about audit is that I am constantly working on different projects and meeting with different clients so I get a vast amount of experience in a short amoutn of time.
I worked for Assurance in PWC. My offer was 61K with a signing bonus of 8K.
Something that you'll notice with service companies is that they keep track of billable hours very hardcore. Most companies, like PWC, make you work a certain amount of billable hours per year. I have found that some companies make you mark down unbillable hours if they have gone over the limit with a clients hours. This hurts you because you're not getting credit for your hours. PWC does not have this problem. They are very honest and always encourage you to write down your billable hours.
Every person that I have met at this firm is smart, hardworking, and ethical. There are A LOT of employees, and the competition is tough - that's why I like it here. You always feel pushed to do your best and you're rewarded for doing a good job. If you're looking to slack on the job, then this is not the place for you. If you're looking to be challenged, then definitely work for PWC.
I work in Assurance and spend almost 95% of my time at the client site. I work an average of about 40 hours a week and love the travel. I do not want to be sitting at the same cubicle every day.
Work at PWC is very secure. I have no fear of being laid off or losing my job. The company is doing well and the internal employee moral is very high. Just go ahead and ask any PWC employee, I can almost guarantee you that they will have company pride in their veins.
I came into the company at the Senior level for tax in 2003. I was given a very good salary of 60K and a great signing bonus of 15K.
