=What is the nature of the work??>
You get rewarded for the quality of your work rather than the speed you do it in. The work is always varied and I never feel like I'm working on the same thing everyday. The great thing about audit is that I am constantly working on different projects and meeting with different clients so I get a vast amount of experience in a short amoutn of time.
I work in Assurance and spend almost 95% of my time at the client site. I work an average of about 40 hours a week and love the travel. I do not want to be sitting at the same cubicle every day.
To be honest, I thought I would be working a lot less hours than I'm currently working. I work 50-60 hours a week on average! I thought audit would be easy, but it seems that the work I'm doing is tough, and the company is very competitive.
I got to be honest here. I do not like the work that I am doing. I am in Tax, and feel that it is very mundane, boring, and that I'm doing the same thing over and over again. This may be perfect for people that want a safe and stable job, but I have realized that I need something more challenging and that offers more of a risk.
I always work on different projects. I have made proposals for potential client engagements and solved business problems while working at the client site. I feel that the work that I do here is a great stepping stone for my future career.
Like any service company, we have long hours, always have to deal with changes in client demands, and are stressed to the teeth during busy season. Do not expect to relax while working here.
During the busy seasons, expect to work 60-70 hour work weeks. Also, don't expect to take time off or vacations during the busy season. If it's not the busy season, PWC highly encourages you to take your time off. Working weekends also only happens during the busy season.
