Advancement opportunities are not so great for bottom employees. The work performed is too simple to have any opportunity to show case one's ability. Also, all they want out of the bottom level employees is the hourly hard work. Other than that, they are not looking for much else and they don't want to see anything else.

The culture is relaxed. There are no particular dress codes. Employees usually dress however they want. Diversity varies from department to department. Managers usually dress in suits. People are nice, but there is also the occasional suppressive boss who pushes everyone too hard to make himself look good. However, in general the atmosphere is friendly.

It's quite a competitive industry to be in. AOL is not in a very good position in the internet business. It could be said that the company is in somewhat of a tight position. They are starting to cut costs by ways of salary and employees. This makes more competitive. Also the pressure to do well in this business puts everyone on the edge.
