=An overall view of Intel?>
The culture is very competitive, but people are arrogant. There has been a lot of layoffs and changes, getting the morale very low and people are unhappy.
As an entry level Engineer, I realized that I hated the work, especially when it sometimes goes over 65 hours a week. However, due to the relocation package, I was stuck for 2 years. Most people I talked to didn't like their jobs either. Also, FOCAL makes Intel remove 15% of the employees every year, which makes everything quite stressful. Sometimes I think about just not performing well so I can quit the company.
The company is extremely conservative with little diversity. The FOCAL rewarding and firing system encourages backstabbing and fighting for credit instead of team work.
Interviews at Intel are heavily behavior. Only very few technical questions because they believe they can train you on the job. The ability to be in a team is what they care about the most. They spend a lot of time interviewing, so prepare a lot of times when you did this and that.
Intel pays pretty well with good benefits. They also give out a lot of stock options. The training is pretty good and you are prepared to tackle most of your projects.
