=An overall view of American Apparel Inc,?>
The company purposely screws up the pay checks and wages of employees. They would trick employees into taking less wages and say it is standard, when in fact they pay all the other employees above that. No real integrity in the way they take care of people. Training is obviously bad, so not much gain there either.
Even though their marketing all says that it's a hip company to work for, it's a lot of chaos to work here. People seriously have no idea what is going on, and there is a lot of mayhem.
Growth opportunities are pretty good, but that's pretty much because no one knows what they are doing, and if you happen to know what you are doing, you can get raises.
In the company, there are a lot of good and creative ideas that are created, but no one seems to follow through with them, and no one organizes the projects very well. This place is one of the biggest disappointments.
The company advertises not using sweatshops and pay them usual wages, but that's because they pay all their employees, who happen to be people in college, low wages. The new factory in Mexico is also not a strong say on not using sweatshops.
The whole company is run by inexperienced college kids, who have no idea what they are doing and are usually lost. The retail department lost over 30,000 items missing in Europe and they have no records of it in any inventory. It's one of the most disorganized place to work at.
