=What is the company culture like??>
I am a semi-conservative person which fits perfectly with Deloitte. The people here are social (we go out to happy hours and dinners all the time), but there is a conservative feel among the employees. I guess it pretty much depends on which office you are at. I'm currently in the Chicago office which suits me perfectly!
I have worked in the east coast for about 6 years. This is definitely one of the most professional places that I have ever worked at because everyone sincerely cares for each other and I have never encountered someone who made me feel uncomfortable. As a woman, I have felt uncomfortable at certain companies, but definitely not at Deloitte.
To be honest, I do not love the work that I do. However, I do love the people that I work with. We chat all the time in our offices, go out for lunch, go to happy hour, and even hang out on the weekends. Work is bleh, but the people are amazing!
We have a lot of networking opportunities, social events, and even a yearly community service day. If you want a fun and vibrant place to work, then Deloitte is definitely the place for you
The culture is upbeat and everyone in the company is committed to creating a positive environment for the employees. I work about 50 to 60 hours a week and often work weekends as well. I don't mind working the weekends because working with your friends is very fun. I love the office environment because the dress is always business casual and I'm able to easily interact with all of the managers and directors.
Dress at my company is formal. Accountants wear basic dark suits. We are allowed to wear slacks and khakis around the office, but it is always a suit and tie when speaking to a client. I guess this makes sense, but I prefer the casual attire rather than the "men in black" look.
The Managing Directors are extremely fun and feel just like another analyst rather than your boss. Dress code is always casual, with the exception of professional attire when you're meeting with a client. Hours are 9 to 8pm, but you can expect to get much longer hours when there is a deadline.
All the managers and partners at Deloitte are extremely friendly and very easily accessible. There is a managing director right across from my cubicle that I am very close to. I am confident in just getting up and walking into his office to say hello.
The people that I work with are all supportive, intelligent, and all of my managers are excellent leaders. The best thing about it is that the managers know how to lead without me or anyone else having to hate them for it. I come into work business casual, and only go full suit when we are meeting with clients.
The managers and directors that I work with are fine; HOWEVER, the partners in the company have a very arrogant feel to them. I have tried to talk to them, but it seems that they won't give me the light of day because I'm not a partner. The very beaurocratic culture does not suit me and makes me feel as less of a person
There is no respect among the employees. Everyone (in audit) is overworked, highly stressed, and is only looking out for themselves. There is low employee moral and the beaurocracy is just unbearable.
I probably never work past 6:30pm, which is perfect for me because I love getting home to watch my early night TV during dinner.
