Being a rival of UBS and a respectable Ibank in the industry, CSFB is definitely one of the most competitive ones out there. You'll need to be top quality in order to get in. On the big picture, however, their conservative style in the global market might hurt them in competing with others.
The Work here is great! It's pretty chilled for Ibanking. On weekdays we probably work from 9am-10pm. On weekends it's around 9am-7pm. The thing is that, you don't have to do the facetime thing. If you are done with your work, you can just go home.
Growth is pretty slow here. You wait your regular 2-3 years and get promoted. I would enjoy an environment that allows you to grow faster when you perform well.
The culture at CSFB is great. It's really relaxed and friendly. People help each other out. The attire is usually business casual. The only thing is that after the DJL Merger, there has been an extreme cultural shock and it has not yes recovered since.
I would say in the short-run it's pretty negative. Clashes of different company cultures causes a lot of turnover among top management. It's got a bit better now so we'll see. Having that clash in the long-run may be a good thing, but transitioning is always tough.
Culture shock in a bad way or in a good way? Can you emphasize on this?
