Open, welcoming culture. The VPs go out of their way to welcome you in the company and make you feel comfortable. The dress around the office is business casual which makes it a very friendly and comfortable environment.

From the outside, the company looks great and prestigious. On the inside, the company is very political and it is very hard to stand out. People in the company always talk behind each others back and they step on each other to get to the next position.

Advancement in the company really depends on the individual rather than a specific timeframe for promotion. Feedback in the company is great, and you really do learn a lot from project to project. Great merit based company

As one of the largest banks in the world, working at Citi is definitely prestigious. They don't take everyone. However, because of its sheer size, you can sometimes be just decently good and still be hired by them.

I work in foreign exchange where we do trading and selling. The trading objective is to provide liquidity to our customers - we basically sell when people want to buy and buy when people want to sell. Sellers build and maintain relationships with our clients, and try to increase sells volume as much as possible.

The culture is too political. If you want to get staffed on the good projects, or work with the good Managers, then you really need to network your way into the company very well. This is a very conservative company and the young analysts feel somewhat out of place.

The trading floor is not diverse at all. You will find that a majority of the trading floor is white male. It can get kind of monotonous to see the same exact type of person everyday on the job. I could do with a little more diversity.
