This summer camp will most likely change your perspective of people, the world, and yourself. It's an experiential, transformational leadership summer camp for 40 boys - there's also a girl's camp down the road - in the Hudson River Valley of New York. 20 boys come from the USA while the other half come from all over the world. The boys basically organize and run the camp for two months. Counselors are there to assist, give feedback, and, ultimately, grow from the experience just like the students. The community is an excellent experience of finding your true self, understanding who your real friends and support circles are, and experiencing the most mature, intelligent, fun, and imaginative teenagers you'll ever meet in your life!

The culture is rather straight forward. You bring to the summer camp as much as you are willing to offer. Nobody makes judgements and openly listens to your ideas and are actively encouraged to pursue anything you desire to accomplish. The teamwork between counselors is phenomenal. The creativity, intelligence, and motivation will push you beyond your own expectations.

This foundation compensates their employees decently for a summer camp position. There is no health insurance for national counselors, the pay is mediocre, but you get free room and board for the summer plus adequate travel expenses to and from the summer camp location.

If you thoroughly enjoy the camp you can work your way up to Program Director. Most folks end up working as a counselor for a year or two, and a select few will be program director usually after at least five years. It's not a career path for most, even if the experience is one of the greatest you'll have in your life, but those who truly believe in the experience will find it rather easy to progress, though the top is a temporary career path.

It's rather easy getting a position as long as you are open, easy-going, and have something unique to offer to the boys - basically, means you should have no problem if you are driven. Summer camp jobs are usually desperate to hire folks, and I highly encourage anyone to spend a summer here!
