Growth is very difficult for a first year in the company. If you have 2-3 years of experience, then your work will be appreciated and you will feel valuable. If this is your first job, then unfortunately you won't get much feedback and promotions are very hard to come by.
Growth and pay raises at Capgemini come infrequently and are hard to achieve. Manager will take little notice of a job well done, but will come down hard on you if you make one mistake. One simple mistake can ruin a years worth of excellent work. I have seen people go 3 years with no promotion in sight.
The best reason to work here is because of the people at Capgemini. Everyone is very open, friendly, and welcoming. I can not think of any colleague that I can't stand working with. The work/life balance is also very excellent here. Managers understand that we all have a life outside of work, so they do their best in only making us work overtime when it is absolutely necessary.
There is a huge difference in the quality of people in each position. Some people have great technical skills, while others have great soft skills. It is very rare to find someone in the company with both skills.
The company does a great job in creating a flexible work environment. We are able to limit our travel when necessary, work from home when necessary, and maintain a strong work/life balance. You definitely get the chance to control your own career at Capgemini.
