It is very hard to get into the firm. FD doesn't just look for smart people. They look for smart people who are funny and goofy! If you don't know how to say dumb and stupid jokes, it doesn't matter how smart you are. FD still doesn't take you!

As an intern, the work has seldom been grunt work. I get to be creative and it's really on me how much I want to get out of it. They give you the ball and the kleets, but it's up to you to run or not.

Interning for FD allows you to put to use a lot of the things you learn in the classroom. Jun makes sure each meeting is as useful to us as it is to him.

The internship is unpaid, but the CMO (Jun) really does go out of his way to make it a learning experience. He even let's us decide what we want to learn about, and then researches it. It's kind of like marketing class

Future Delivery tries to combine work and play, and so we always find ways to make work fun. We like to play Speedracer to warm up Skype meetings, Smashbros for work break (Melee, which is still the better one), and our meetings are full of laughters.

We mostly play Super Smash Bros and make up some bs about what we did when the boss comes.

Although there is not a lot of supervising as an intern, I like the feeling of independence and that I control the work I do. I like the culture and the professionalism while maintaining a fun atmosphere.

The guys I've worked with so far are laid back but smart. We are professional in the sense that gettin' shit done is our goal, but unprofessional in the sense that we say things like "gettin' shit done". It's not like a group of sailors or anything, but it's not exactly suit and tie either. I feel like I could fart if I needed to. I like it.

This is a great place to learn from people with experience and also to learn more about fields that you might be interested such as consulting, marketing, advertising, finances. Not only are you helping build a great network, but you are at the same time you are learning about other things.

The culture here is similar to a multi-player real time strategy game. When people are playing starcraft online, the way they talk are very non-serious, with lots of jokes and making fun of each other. However, when it comes to actual work (or defeating the opponents), everyone takes it very seriously with full efficiency in mind. People are here to do good work, but also laugh at each other.

Interns don't get paid anything. But I guess you can't put a price on experience.

New computer program to design fliers and web page: $79
Cans of red bull for all those nights up: $9
Doctor bills for the carpal tunnel after writing all those emails: $300
Getting experience in marketing: Priceless

It's easy to get in, but you get out what you put in... getting the internship position was fairly easy (which makes sense, they aren't paying me and it doesn't hurt to have another soldier pushing your name).

time will tell I think. The companies too young to have a rigid corporate hierarchy you can climb... If it takes off, I feel that some of the top interns might be offered positions

We get alot of fun projects. If we don't know how to approach a project or get started we get alot of help from others. Team culture helps to promote working as a team and thinking out of the box

Right not this is an extended internship for a lot of people, but if the company starts growing and earning money, it seems possible that current interns will be considered for a full-time.

We don't get paid anything as interns but what we learn is very valuable. The knowledge that others can share with us on being part of a startup company is something we can use years from now

FD doesn't just take anyone. They take bright minds and people that can motivate themselves. The interview process involves several interviews with differnt people from different departments.

The weekly "lectures" - powerpoint presentations of marketing techniques and interview tips are absolutely great! Jun really prepares for those meetings, asks for feed back and your personal areas of interest

The company is based in LA, so all communication with people outside the area is done though Skype. People are very friendly and accomodating, they understand your time pressures or special circumstances

From the insider point of view, it does not seem to be very competitive for the unpaid interns. However, it would probably be different once they start hiring full-time workers. It is also clear that there are certain types of people that would not be accepted even as interns.
